Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
