The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA Debut

Emerging athlete preparing for major competition

This young athlete maintains considerable online audience

Kai Trump will have plenty of prominent cheerleaders when she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous golf courses and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she revealed.

The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply stay calm."

"My grandpa practically told me to play and relax," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's simply a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, making him quite busy."

As an amateur, Kai has competed in only three events this year and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

However she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Vanessa.

"He stands as the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He told me to play, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the competition, such as world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Officials mentioned that involving Kai helps introduce golf to wider groups, specifically reaching the next generation.

The social media influencer boasts millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living brand.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
