FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
